Black Friday

I have to say that there is no deal worth losing your life over. But more than that. Retailers are not just worried about one day. They want you to come into their business throughout the entire holiday season. So don’t think that the deals you see for Black Friday won’t be available at some other time.

They say that the deals they offer are the best. But in reality you can get better deals in the last 48 hours before Christmas, and of course the days after Christmas. This is because they need to clear out inventory, making a profit is less of a concern at this point. If you carry over too much inventory it can hurt your bottom line.

For me I choose to not participate in this ridiculous. I refuse to let corporate america and the marketing mania sway my decision making process.

Before you even get to December you should have your holiday spending budget all planned out. This will keep you from straying and still be able to get all the gifts you want for people without going into debt.

Remember this is the hoiliday season and the reason for the season is not debt and not blowing the budget. Keep a clear head and you will make it through the season just fine and feel better about making it without screwing up your financial plans.

Bank Fees

First let me say that I think the new direction of this site will be anything financial and not just credit. But the Credit Monster is still going to attack it all.

So let’s talk a little bit about bank fees. These banks are supposed to be the financial gurus that are running our money and economy yet the only way they can figure out to make money is to charge more fees.

This does not paint an encouraging picture for me about the state of our financial institutions. I do what I do and when I need to figure out a way to make more money I don’t go and gut the current customers I already have, nope, I find either a new method or business line to make things change. Why aren’t the big banks looking into this stuff. Hey there are businesses doing payday loans. I don’t know why a big bank couldn’t do that too. Why can’t they go into insurance services? Why can’t a bank not just be the place where you go for checking and savings, make it be your one stop shop for many personal and family needs.

So as the big banks continue to gut their current customers and of course those customers leave they face an uncertain future. We need the leaders of the financial industries to have more incentive to do their best. Right now too many get too huge a paycheck and they don’t care if the company fails or looses money because they still get paid. Maybe we ca make it so that those big salaries are based off performance. You should never get paid just because of the position you are in, but instead you should get paid based off the performance you put out in your position. You want to make millions as CEO then do the job right and deserve that money.
